Let’s jump right into it. Here are the 3 reasons why poor people stay poor (and how to get filthy rich):
1) Deep down, poor people don’t really want money: Sure, if you walked up to someone and was like, “Hey, here’s a million dollars.” they would more than likely shit themselves.
But that’s one of few ways the average person could become financially abundant considering how they currently think. And like the lottery curse proves, within a few years, more than likely they’d either spend all the money and go broke, or end up accidentally killing themselves in some crazy fashion.
The reason why poor people don’t really want money is because for their entire life, all their poor family, friends, and community members have been telling them shit like, “money is the root of all evil”, “money doesn’t grow on trees”, “it takes money to make money”, and “rich people are crooks”.
And so, after 20 years of hearing this absolute bullshit everyday of their lives, they’ve been subconsciously programmed to associate negativity to becoming financially abundant, and therefore, don’t even entertain the possibility that they could be, so they never become financially abundant. Simple as that.
Money is not the root of all evil. Money is a tool and can be used for good or bad—just like a knife, hammer, car, or any other tool we use. I’ve never heard anyone call a knife the root of all evil, but nevertheless, you can easily kill someone with a knife, and many have.
The reality is, how money is used is based on the values of the person and culture at hand. And you can just as easily use money to help others (which happens all the time) as you can to hurt them. It’s a human choice. It has nothing to do with money itself.
If you want to become wealthy, you have to get rid of the many limiting beliefs about money that poor people blare out on repeat like a broken record.
2) Since poor people have limiting beliefs about money, they never make the decision to become rich: How does a fireman become a fireman? How does a school teacher become a school teacher? Well, before they can become either of those things, they have to make a decision to become them! And because poor people are culturally allowed to believe that they can become a fireman or school teacher, many of them make a decision to become one and, sure enough, they become one. Crazy how that works, right?!
When a poor person says he wants to be a fireman or school teacher, the other poor people support his decision because “that’s reasonable” but if that same poor person was to say something like, “I’m going to become super wealthy one day!”, his poor peers would laugh at him, “Yeah, sure Billy!! You’re gonna be the next Bill Gates… hahaha!”
But a wealthy person would never say that; they’d never laugh at an awesome goal like that. The poor person laughs because he’s been mentally trained to believe that being rich is not possible, whereas the wealthy person hasn’t been taught that, doesn’t believe it, hence why they’re wealthy.
If you want to become rich, the first step is making a decision to become rich.
3) Since poor people never make a decision to become rich, they never seek out the knowledge and strategies to do so: When poor people want to become a school teacher, what do they do? They go to school to learn how to become a school teacher. Or an engineer. Or a nurse, Or whatever. But one thing that permanently remains off that what’s-possible-for-me list, is becoming rich.
Since we were never taught anything empowering about money from our poor parents or our poor public schools, it’s never dawned on us that we can study and learn how to become rich.
Rich people aren’t aliens.
They didn’t come from some other planet. They’re humans just like us. The only difference between poor and rich people is how they think. That’s it. Sure, some are born into money, but the reality is that many rich families lose their wealth and become poor again. It happens all the time. And I’ll tell ya, it’s almost always because the next generation didn’t learn the mental tools or worth ethic they needed to retain the families wealth and just became little spoiled bitches who pissed away everything their parents worked hard for.
Conversely, everyday a ton of poor families become rich families because someone in the family broke through the poor barrier by learning what they needed to learn and working their asses off to become rich.
How did they do it?
By becoming a student of the rich mindset. By picking up books on financial intelligence and how to make more money, then reading them. By attending seminars on money and investing. By learning about business and how to start and run one that is successful. By seeking out rich people and adding value to their lives in return for learning their ways so they can copy how they became rich.
That’s how it’s done.
So the end of the day, being poor is a choice. Again, the only difference between poor people and rich people is how they think. So get rid of your limiting beliefs taught to you by your poor elders and supported by your poor peers, make a decision to become financially abundant, and go out there and find the books, seminars, podcasts, videos, or the countless other educational material that will teach you to be rich, learn what you have to learn, do what you have to do, and become fucking rich! Trust me, you can do it!
