How To Reclaim Superpowers You Never Knew You Had

You have superpowers. We all do. Thing is, few of us know we have them, and even fewer actually use them.

And since we see so many people not using their superpowers, we think it’s normal not to have them.

But it hasn’t always been this way.

There was a time when you did use your superpowers. You used them when you were a kid.

When you were a kid, you would boldly exclaim, “I CAN DO ANYTHING!!”

And when you fell off your bike, you never said, “Oh, well, I guess I’m not good at that.” and then gave up.

Instead, you jumped back on your bike over and over again, each time with more determination, until finally, after falling 10 or 20 times, you learned how to ride your bike.

And from that day forward, life was glorious as you pedaled around vigorously, swooping through the neighborhood with your new speed racer.

NOTHING could stop you!

But then, slowly overtime, you grew up.

As a kid, no one would mess with your dreams, because it’s taboo for an adult to tell a kid they can’t do something.

But as you aged, your parents, your teachers, and more of your elder heroes began telling you what you could and couldn’t do.

They’d say things like, “You’re not a kid anymore. Grow up!”

Or…

“That’s not realistic. Stop being a dreamer!”

And overtime, with more and more people you looked up to telling you what you could and couldn’t do, your superpowers slowly began to fade, until one day, you woke up as just another worker bee.

Now, 80% of your days look something like this:

~You smash your annoying alarm clock on the floor. Jump into the shower, scrubbing as fast as you can. Grab your coffee, trying not to spill it as you rush to the car. Plow through traffic. Run into work. Take a deep breath as you clock in just in time. And proceed to work your 8 hour shift of pure monotony, where you do, more or less, the same shit you did the last 3 years of your one life, day in and day out.~

This is not what life is about.

Life is not about finding a good job, making sure you pay your bills on time, and being a proud voter every 4 years.

Life is about EXCITEMENT!

Life is about ADVENTURE!

Life is about LIVING!

When you were a kid, this was common sense. You never did shit that bored you.

But then you started listening to the “grown ups”.

That was your first mistake.

But how could you know any better—you were just a kid.

Well, the good news is—NOW you know better.

And NOW, you can do something about it.

The truth is, you still have your superpowers.

Sure, they’re a little dull, but they’re still there and eagerly awaiting to be used again.

But you can’t strengthen them unless you make a decision today.

Indeed, a powerful one.

You have to DECIDE that you will no longer accept a routine life that’s been stripped of any excitement or adventure, only to be reserved for 2 weeks a year—something we call vacations—when we escape our normal lives to go live the life we’re suppose to be living everyday.

I say trade in your vacation days for a life you don’t need to escape from.

Get rid of your possessions that you think you own, but really own you.

Save some money to go on a soul-seeking journey.

And when you have enough in your piggy bank, quit your job.

Then, simply, take off on your great adventure!

Don’t worry, if you decide this whole adventure thing isn’t for you, you can always go back to your cubicle where safety and mind-numbing boredom await you.

How I Make My Favorite Salad For Maximum Energy

 I absolutely love salads because they’re just about the best fuel you can consume… and they taste fucking delicious!

Again, when you’re eating high quality foods, this translates into a high quality mind and body. And since the quality of our thoughts determine the quality of our life, it all comes full circle and translates to a dope life.

Here’s how I make my favorite salad for maximum energy:

INGREDIENTS:

  • 6 ounce chicken breast (or fish, and chopped up)
  • A couple big handfulls of spinach or kale (chopped up)
  • A small handfull of cilantro (chopped up)
  • 1 Tomato (in the picture I added 6 cherry tomatoes plus half a regular tomato, all chopped up)
  • 1/4 cucumber (usually, but not always, and chopped up)
  • Half green pepper (chopped up)
  • 1/2 Lemon (squeezed)
  • Cap full of organic apple cider vinegar
  • A few douses of high quality olive oil (all olive oil is not created equal and often mixed with shitty oil like canola, which is highly processed)
  • Sea salt and pepper

HOW I THROW IT TOGETHER:

  1. I put the spinach in a large salad bowl first, then chop up the cilantro and put that in, then chop up the rest of the ingredients and throw that in (all chopped up).
  2. Then I squeeze the lemon in the bowl, circling around the bowl so there’s even coverage on the food.
  3. Then pour in the cap full of apple cider vinegar, and squeeze the lemon in.
  4. Lastly, I sprinkle in some sea salt and pepper.
  5. Once all that’s in the bowl, I take two spoons and mix the salad up thoroughly.

Then I eat!!

The benefits of eating this delicious concoction are the fuel you get from it, the mental performance that is derived from eating whole foods, and the lightness of the food and no bogging down of your mind and body from having a full stomach, so you can still work or play hard and have max energy.

I had just moved back home from NYC and felt like a complete failure. Man, this is crucial! The reality is that your work is going to take up a large part of your life—about 50 to 80 percent of it—so if you want to lead a fulfilling life, you gotta love what you do. Otherwise you’re going to spend a large part of your time stressed out and unhappy, which will seep into others areas of your life such as your relationships, finances, health, etc.

You may not know what kind of work will make you happy right now, but you have to start looking and experimenting. And you can never stop until you find it. Like Jobs said, you’ll know when you find it. DON’T SETTLE.

One time I recited this quote in my head while in an AT&T store staring at this beautiful woman standing over to the side waiting to get her phone fixed. I got so nervous for some reason, but after reading this quote off in my head, it gave me the perspective to approach her and introduce myself. I ended up getting her number and we went on a date the next night, which turned out fantastic to say the least. To this day she is one of my best friends and I’m so grateful to have her in my life.

The reality is that one day not too far out you’re going to die and this ride is going to end. And once you realize this, the petty worries and fears you have that hold you back from your greatness become insignificant and you develop a certain power to make big moves and not give a fuck because you recognize that this is your one life and you need to make the most of it.

MEN: Why You Haven’t Gotten Laid In Forever And How To Increase Sexy Time ASAP

I was talking with a childhood friend the other day and he told me he hadn’t been with a woman in over 4 years!

I was shocked! 4 years?!?! I can understand 3-6 months… but 4 years?!

That’s real pain and suffering!

Having sex and connecting with the opposite sex is a real human NEED. It’s absolutely unacceptable to settle for piss poor results like that.

So, when I hear stories like my buddy’s, I always ask them one simple question:

“How many women have you approached in that time frame?”

The inevitable answer every.single.time is always—ZERO.

Guys, women are NOT going to approach you! It’s just NOT going to happen.

Therefore, meeting a woman is just like making a sale. It’s a numbers game!

The more women you approach, the higher your chances are of meeting one who is interested in you and, most importantly, YOU ARE INTERESTED IN! (Raise your standards damn it!!)

Yes, if you approach women—which you should always be doing unless you’re satisfied at the moment—you WILL get turned down. That’s just a fact of life.

My late great mentor Craig use to tell me, “If you’re not willing to look like a fool, don’t even get in the game.”

I live by this quote in every facet of my life because it’s the truth. The bridge to success is failure! And that’s true for just about any pursuit worth pursuing.

But if you get turned down, don’t take it personal. Maybe she has a boyfriend. Or maybe she’s in a bad mood.

Whatever it is, who cares!

You don’t have to be mean or an asshole, but dwelling on things you can’t control is a complete waste of time and emotional energy!

Whether you’re just trying to get laid (lots of women are too) or you’re looking for “the one,” it requires looking within, sorting out your shit, and taking massive action! It’s not gonna be easy at first, but it will get easier over time with practice, and soon enough you’ll be making love with an incredible woman of your dreams!

I’ve noticed that my life ebbs and flows. And the biggest trend that I see is extreme stages of growth where I spend most of my time learning, and then swing to extreme stages of partying, or as I like to look at it as, mental rest (which I’ll get to in a second).

One thing I’ve learned is that it’s difficult for me to grow rapidly or produce great work while also partying.

And that’s for the simple fact that in order to rapidly grow, I must be 100% clean mentally and physically. That’s when my mind is the most functional, which allows me to learn the fastest.

In other words, I can’t be drinking or eating like shit, or staying out all night—all of which comes with the party lifestyle—if I want to grow rapidly.

But I also LOVE going balls to the wall and partying my ass off.

This is a result of the fact that moderation is difficult for me. When I do things, I take them to the extreme.

I don’t ride my bicycle to Walmart. I ride it from NYC to LA.

I don’t study for a few hours. I become obsessed with a subject for 10 hours a day for months at a time until I thoroughly understand it.

And the same is true for partying.

I don’t go out for a drink and come home before midnight. I go out for a drink and end up on a crazy 3 day bender that often leaves my body and mind mutilated.

But that’s what’s interesting.

The same also occurs during extreme times of growth. I’ll go without sleep and my mind will be on full-blast for months at a time.

In other words, regardless of whether I’m in growth-mode or party-mode, I’m putting my mind and body through hell.

This is interesting because, like I said, I see partying as a time for me to rest my mind. But I suppose it’s a different kind of rest.

When I’m in growth-mode, I get annoyed at people very easily and take everything very serious. My mind is in a very intense state over a long sustained period of time.

And when I’m in party-mode, I think everyone and everything is hilarious and take nothing serious. This allows me to relax my minds need to be so intense about everything.

All in all, I think this all stems from the fact that A) I’m an extremist, and B) the only thing consistent in my life is constant change.

I need constant change or my mind gets bored fast.

Constant growth-mode becomes very boring for me, but so does constant party-mode, hence why I’m constantly flip-flopping between the two.

So I’ve come to terms with this ebb and flow in my life. But sometimes I wonder if there’s a better way.

I’m not sure.

Because of course there are more “sustainable” ways of living, or rather, alternative lifestyles that are more balanced—that’s needless to say—but I don’t think that’s me.

I believe everyone has a core-self.

People can learn all sorts of different mindsets and strategies that produce better results in their life, but at the end of the day, everyone has a core-self that never changes.

I know for a fact that I’m the same person I was when I was 4 as I am today at 30.

I can remember all the adventures I use to go on and how my mind functioned back then, and nothing has really changed except for the fact that I have more life experience and a better set of mental tools to guide me through life.

This is why I always advocate accepting yourself as you are. And that’s for the simple fact that there are advantages and disadvantages to every lifestyle or way of thinking and being.

I find many advantages in my current lifestyle, as well as many disadvantages.

And I’m okay with that. That’s me, and I accept who I am at the core because A) I know my core-self will never change, and B) although not perfect, I think I’m pretty rad.

What I Learned By Pissing Off A Bunch Of Feminists

The other day, right after waking up with a killer hangover, I saw a feminist Fb post hating on men again. After coming back from a country (Colombia) where women overwhelmingly LOVE men like no other, it pissed me off and I reacted by writing a super harsh post tearing into feminists.

As one would expect, I got some pretty harsh comments from a few women—a few I really care about—and it made me feel like shit. But it did more than that, it made me reflect on the message I send out into this world and how I handle negativity in my life.

In life, there will forever be the negative and positive, the yin and the yang, and as individuals, we have a choice in what we focus on. And depending on what we focus on will result in how we feel.

For years I heavily researched government corruption, which had me focusing most of my attention on all the negativity in the world.

Although I don’t regret that chapter in my life because it taught me a lot, it also made me feel like shit a lot for the simple fact that I was focusing almost entirely on the negative.

So I quit focusing on all that shit and made a decision to do my part in changing the world for the better by doing what I do best—inspiring people to live bad ass lives. Then a few days ago I wrote that post and that shitty feeling came rushing back. Needless to say, I didn’t enjoy it.

The thing about feminism is it’s the same thing—it pins women against men and creates that negativity I so despise. I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know incredible women who absolutely adored men, and then watched them go down the death spiral I did with government corruption—accept with men.

They frame everything as men against women just as I once framed everything as the awaken against the sheeple.

But that’s not truth. The reality is things aren’t as simple as that.

The reason I stopped shitting on the masses and resenting the fuck out of them for the world they supposedly allow to exist through their ignorance alone, is because, like I’ve said before, we’re all doing the best we know how. And much of the reason why many of us don’t know how to do better (like being informed citizens) is for the simple fact that we were never taught how to do better.

And the same is true for the feminist movement.

I’m all for equal female rights, or walking around topless if a woman wants (like a man would), or whatever they want to do with their lives. But that’s not what I see from most feminists. Instead of focusing on real equality issues, what I see is a lot of hatred towards men in general.

Women taking out their personal frustrations with their love life lacking any excitement, and using feminism as an excuse to blame men for it instead of taking responsibility for the quality of their own life.

But I don’t believe that feminists truly hate men. I believe, in many cases, they were taught to hate men. I believe that there are forces out there that want us to fight each other—to pin whites against blacks, democrats against republicans, women against men. The more division the better.

These forces benefit when we divide because unity is strength, and strong people are hard to manipulate and control. Why play the game straight up when you can rig the system? At least that’s how many of those who have immense power feel.

They want us to fight each other because it diverts attention away from real issues like severe poverty, corporate welfare, and the war machine which sacrifices human life to make gargantuan profits.

We have to learn to stand up to these forces, and one of the best ways to fight these forces is to not fight at all. To choose everyday to focus on the positive instead of the negative—love instead of fear.

When we as individuals focus on the positive, we destroy the negative.

For example, Gandhi was only one man, yet because he chose not to fight at all (which led others to do the same), he was able to free an entire nation.

And that’s not a stretch—that’s a fact. One man’s actions literally freed an entire nation of people.

He said, “An eye for eye makes the whole world blind.”

But maybe even more powerful is when he said, “You must be the change you wish to see in the world.”

And this brings me back full circle.

If I want to help change the world, the best place to start is with me. And so that day, after feeling shitty from posting what I did, I realized that I have a choice too—to focus on love or fear. And ya know what—I choose love.

My First Night In Key West

I left Medellin, Colombia so I could see family and spend some time with my favorite person in the world—my cousin, Shane James Zingo. He said he was headed back to Key West to live so I said I’d join him.

Fast forward ——>>>>

I arrived by Greyhound to Key West international airport and head a few miles into town on foot until I spot the first establishment with wifi (haven’t had cell service in 10 months), which ended up being Shanna Key Irish Bar.

I walk in and there’s 4 people sitting at the bar + the bartender, Nancy, and they all acknowledge me immediately and conversation ensues as fast as I sit down.

They ask me where I’m from. I tell them—“The world.”

I ask the older guy sitting on the bar stool to the right of me what he does for work and play, which led us to a conversation about how bad ass prop planes are.

He told me a story about him dropping into Alaska and, since it was so cold, having to keep the engine running, otherwise it would freeze up within minutes and he wouldn’t be able to start the engine again, which would result in him being stuck in the middle of no where and more than likely dying.

Just another day at work for him.

I went outside for a smoke and end up talking to a marine and his girlfriend about what combat was like. He seemed to revel in it—he loved the action.

Then Nancy (the bartender) comes out to tell me my Irish Nachos were done, which is basically nachos minus the nachos with steak fries in place.

They were fucking delicious.

The bartender and I get to chatting about her married life and how she had one kid of her own and four step children from her husband.

When they met his first wife was dying of cancer. They all knew each other and were cordial. After 14 years of marriage, she decided to move to Key West and live the care-free island life.

She shared some ideas for me to do while in Key West and at that same time someone was grabbing a cab heading downtown to Duvall street, so Nancy suggested I catch the cab with them.

I told the woman heading there I didn’t have any cash on me—only credit card—and she said don’t worry about it. So this woman (I forget her name), this dude named Danny, and I, headed to Duvall street.

We walked into a bar together and the first dude we ran into bought us all beers.

Key West is so friendly.

His name was Randall. He’s a traveling chef who works for the coast guard and the vinyard, Kendall Jackson. We got to talking about some pretty deep government shit and he mentioned he worked at Bohemian Grove and served Henry Kissinger a martini. He said he watched Colin Powell drunkenly take a piss on a tree.

As we were talking, he had his eye on this Scottish chick who had mangly yellow teeth and, although super nice, was far from attractive. I was surprised being that he wasn’t an ugly dude and had his shit together for the most part.

Then Randall and I decided to split from the girl and Danny, who ended up going back home to fuck.

We headed to a titty bar on Duvall Street called Red Garder Saloon. We walked in, and mind you, this whole time I’ve had my massive backpacking pack on me, so that gets searched by the bouncer and he has me open it wide so he can rummage through all of it.

After he gave me the okay, I ask him if I can give it to him to put somewhere, but he had zero interest in helping me with that, so I just took it upon myself to stash it in some dark corner next to the bar where no one could really see it.

Then I assessed the female action and it was pretty poor. After living in Medellin, Colombia, most women I meet in America just don’t compare.

Colombian women have long thick black hair, voluptuous bodies, tanned skin, and they’re super friendly and love to fuck and please their man.

American women often don’t take care of their appearance, aren’t that friendly or easy to approach, and in my experience, usually aren’t that passionate in bed. Of course that’s a massive generalization and an unfair comparison to Colombian women, which are among the most gorgeous in the world.

Anywho, while Randall is running around pulling out money from the ATM for more lap dances, a Russian stripper approaches me sternly like she’s Joseph Stalin and somehow thinks that’s going to seduce me.

I’m bored and she’s pretty hot so I continue chatting with her and try to soften her up. She tells me she use to live in NYC and worked there too but hates the cold so she came to Key West. Ultimately she just comes to America to make money so she can bring it back to her family in Russia. A story I’ve heard more than once.

After that jazz, I looked around for Randall and he was nowhere to be found, so I chat chitted with the bartender for a little while longer and then split.

As I walked out, the original taxi driver who gave us a ride to Duvall Street, Jodie, yelled out from her pink taxi whip to get my attention and asked me if I wanted to go on some rides with her. I said sure and jumped in, massive backpack in my lap.

We were cruising around and stopped so I could throw my bag in the back of this SUV taxi. When I lifted the window gate, the corner of the window jammed into my eye and for some odd reason I instantly felt super nauseous. I told her that as she came back to help me get my 80 pound bag into the back.

Right after telling her I felt nauseous, I sensed something bad was about to happen, so I rushed back to the front passenger seat in dire need of safety, sat down, and immediately passed out, falling into full-on dream mode. Next thing I know, the taxi driver is out of her car on my side with the door open slapping me in the face to wake up, “Are you okay Kurshot?!?! Are you okay?!?!”

I had totally blacked out from poking my eye. It was super weird.

After I came to and that debacle ended, she said she had to pick up four people (not enough seats in the taxi for me), so she told me to hang tight at the bar across the street and that she’d come back once she dropped these people off and pick me back up for more cruising around town. Being the trusting and care-free person I am, I left my bag with everything I own in this world in her car.

After about ten minutes of waiting alone in this bar, she pulled back up and I jumped back in. We drove around for a bit, and ended up picking up this guy who had lost his girlfriend, had both of their phones on him (which were both dead), and was limping around from what he believed to be a broken toe.

On our way to his hotel we stopped at an ATM so he could pull out fare money, then we headed to his hotel. As soon as we pulled into the hotel loop drive way thing, the taxi driver’s dispatch said through the radio that he just dropped off a woman to the same hotel who couldn’t find her boyfriend. That gave us a chuckle.

Jodi needed to make rent for the month so her goal for that day was 120 bucks. She was only at 93 bucks. She had 30 bucks to go till she could hop out of her pink taxi and hop into bed. So she went to a bar that was closing soon and staked it out waiting for the guests to come out suspecting they’d need a ride home.

This wasn’t her first rodeo.

I had told her that I was looking for a place to stay, so while I ran into the bar to take a piss, she got to talking to a plastered guest sitting outside alone drinking a pitcher by himself. When I walked out of the bar, she said, “Looks like Tom here is gonna give you a place to stay.”

I sat down and he poured me a cold one from his pitcher of beer, and shortly after Jodi took off on a call. I got her number of course. She was a cool lady.

As hammered as Tom was, him and I managed to make it back to his place where we chat chitted about his daughters and how one of them is brilliant and the other is an idiot. His words, not mine.

Shortly after arriving at his “sober living” apartment (As nice as he was, Tom was an alcoholic), I passed out and before I knew it, woke up to the sounds of an older gentlemen making breakfast.

Morning had arrived.

I had to use the bathroom first and take care of some biz-nass, but afterwards I went into the kitchen and startled him with a bold introduction.

His name was Doc. He was 67 and was cooking spaghetti for breakfast.

Regardless of his choice of breakfast food, I soon discovered he was well-read, especially in the area of history and government. We spoke about 9/11 and the gulf of Tompkins incident and the black panthers in the 60’s and Nixon and the Bush dynasty and the Kennedy dynasty and the state of affairs today. Then he said he had to split. But before he did, he told me I didn’t have to run off so quick; that he enjoyed our conversation and I could stay for a while if I wanted.

Taking him up on his offer, I past back out until being woken up again, but this time by a grey pony-tail haired dude who told me I had 15 minutes to get my shit and be out.

He was the resident manager who oversaw all the “recovering” alcoholics.

I didn’t make a fuss and gathered up my shit and took off on my next adventure.

Needless to say, my first night spent in Key West was one to remember.

How to Make It in New York City (And in Life)

When I lived in New York City, I was surrounded at work by aspiring actors, dancers, artists, and models. So many flocked to the city in pursuit of fame and fortune. But overtime, what I realized was that most of them weren’t aspiring to be anything other than a New York City waiter/waitress.

Unless you came from a well-off family, you’re ascension to fame and fortune first began with clearing tables at Applebee’s. If you were a more refined server, then it was Isabella’s on the upper west side where serving Bono his buttered bagel was a daily routine.

Working along side many of these peeps, I would ask myself, “How does one make it in the game?!”

Overtime, the answer to that question became very clear. 

In fact, it was simple.

Although I had heard every excuse in the book for why they didn’t get the part and/or had no work, the truth was, the people who put in the most amount of effort—the ones hustling everyday—they were the ones getting all the gigs. 

I always wondered how my actor buddy was going to get up in the morning and pound the pavement looking for his first big role when the night before he was out drinking with me.

He never did.

Instead he moved back home. Along with many others who, like clockwork, always joined the rest of the gang for a drink (or ten) after their shift. 

But I’m not ragging on these people. It’s tough out there.

In the world.

Trying to make your name shine brighter than the rest.

In the song, Empire State of Mind by Jay-Z, he said,

“City it’s a pity. Half of ya’ll won’t make it.”

He was being nice. It’s more like 95 percent.

The world is big and bad and merciless, and if you wanna make it in any endeavor worth talking about, you’re gonna have to do two things:

1) Toughen the fuck up. And 2) work your fucking ass off.

Nature ain’t nice, and if you want to survive in the jungle, you gotta act like a lion.

You gotta be able to work two jobs every day all week and then wake up on monday ready to do it again, with or without motivation or inspiration, for as long as it takes until you fucking make it.

And then work a shit ton more.

But the good news is, if you’re doing it right, you’ll be doing work you love. And if you’re doing work you love, then you ain’t workin.

So—whether actress or dancer or model or whatever it is that you aspire to be—if you wanna make it big, if you want your name to shine bright as fuck…

…DO YOUR F#*&$ING WORK!!

Why Kanye is F*cking Up and What I’ve Learned From Him

 The reason why Kanye West is fucking up is because he’s allowed the energy pirates to jump on board his ship and rob his attention.

By constantly fighting off haters and trying to prove them wrong, he’s investing his time and energy into negativity, which causes two things to occur:

1) It adds fuel to his haters’ bond fire.

2) And it diminishes the amount of time and energy he can allocate to helping those who look to him for leadership; the lives in which he can make a real difference.

How do I know this? Because I’ve been fucking up in the same way.

I’ve been focusing so much time and mental energy on those who “attack” the way I think, the way I live, and how I express that to others.

Doing this has caused me much anger and unnecessary pain, and more importantly, has limited the amount of time and energy I can put into helping those who resonate with my message.

What both Kanye and myself need to learn is that haters are a figment of our imagination. If we choose to ignore their existence—POOF—they instantly disappear.

And so, as of this very moment, I’ve decided that haters no longer exist in my life. I will no longer allow them to rob me of my time and energy.

The only people that exist are those who resonate with my message. Those who I can serve. Everyone else is simply a distraction; an energy pirate.

So to those who are on board, I’m sorry for being selfish and wasting your time with my egotistical bullshit. I will no longer take advantage of your time and attention.

From here on out, my only focus is to serve you the best I know how. And if I can improve in any other ways, please let me know.
